when he was finally located, he was severely dehydrated and malnourished from the days without food or water, and he sat in a dark alcove of one of the tunnels, curled into a ball, half-conscious, mumbling to himself quietly as they approached. the sound of their footsteps and voices frightened him, and he fainted when they reached him.
he was rushed to a hospital where he was to be examined at length.
in the ambulance on the way to the hospital, his heart stopped temporarily, and it was guessed that he had slipped into some kind of shock from his experiences underground. he was easily revived, though his body remained comatose for almost 24 hours before he regained consciousness.
